New Year 1. January 2025 – Copenhagen, Denmark.
Time: 0.00 a.m. – 12e35 55n40
In this year, two of the collective planets, Uranus and Neptune, will move into new signs, alongside Pluto which recently (November 2024) entered Aquarius. Uranus moves from Taurus to Gemini between 6-7 July 2025, and Neptune from Pisces to Aries on 31 March.
Uranus in Gemini
Uranus will (apart from a final retrograde period in Taurus from November 2025 to April 2026) remain in Gemini for the next 6 years — until 2032 which, according to the English spiritual teacher Diana Cooper, is the pivotal year of transitioning into the New Golden Age, long predicted.
Uranus in Gemini will accelerate new inventions in communication and language. This will also be accentuated by Pluto in Aquarius. We will see spiritual technology, robots, and AI like nothing we’ve known before. New forms of vehicles will be invented. Flying cars are already a reality, and as the frequency of energy vibrations in the human body increases, we will also, in the not-so-distant future, be able to move on small platforms hovering just above the Earth’s surface. And we will be able to travel vast distances in a very short time.
On the inner planes, our telepathic abilities and new forms of language, such as light and sound languages, will develop rapidly. More and more people will be able to communicate with plants, animals and intelligences from other planets and dimensions, as well as spiritual guides and masters. Uranus brings new, unexpected impulses and ideas to the world, and in the sign of Gemini, these will be rapidly communicated and shared through the electronic media, which are also associated with Uranus.
If you have planets in the early degrees of Gemini, Sagittarius, Pisces, or Virgo, you may prepare for spiritual openings, downloads, and inspirations you have never recieved before. Perhaps you will begin to ‘hear’ or sense your angels and spiritual guides speaking to you, and you will be able to hear or feel more and more wisdom from your inner healer and your deep, intuitive intelligence. Uranus is also called ‘The Great Awakener,’ so we may wake up to new dimensions of life on Earth, also known as the Fifth Dimension, where we can see, hear, feel, and taste with senses beyond the physical. We may begin to directly experience that we are not individuals separated from each other, and thus we will sense our embeddedness in the greater whole.
Thanks to archetypal astrology — whose founders have done deep research into both collective history and the life of individual historical figures — we now know that Uranus is also associated with the mythological figure Prometheus, the Greek hero who stole fire from the gods and gave it to humanity for enlightenment. So, if you have a prominent Uranus in your birth chart, you may be an awakener – someone who brings liberating change, new ideas, or new inventions to the world.
Neptune in Aries
Neptune enters the sign of Aries on 31 March 2025, where it will stay until 2039 — i.e. the next 14 years, apart from a final retrograde period in Pisces from midt September 2025 to late January 2026.
Neptune is the planet of dreams, fantasy, illusions, and imagination. Neptune also symbolises the realm of mythology, the collective level of consciousness from which myths arise and to which they eventually return. Myths are like underlying, archetypal streams of consciousness informing the course of our lives, whether we are conscious of them or not. The more we become aware of this, the easier it will be to choose the positive possibilities that the myths inspire in us. Neptune symbolises the trends that prevail at any given time. The star signs are the ‘backdrop’ upon which these stories unfold. While Neptune has been moving through Pisces from 2011 until now, our collective awareness about unity with all living things has grown, and this was particularly catalysed during the 2020 pandemic.
With Neptune in Aries, it is likely that stories and films about heroic myths will become popular in a completely new way. The Hero’s Journey, which Joseph Campbell dedicated his life to exploring, will take on new expressions. The inner journey of the masculine, which Mars (associated with Aries) undertakes to find his higher and deeper Self, will gain new energy and popularity. The divine masculine, present in all of us regardless of gender identity, will be reborn. Aries is the first sign of the Zodiac, and therefore Neptune will initiate a new 165-year cycle. We will see a new type of men and a new level of ‘action heroes’. Heroes who show the courage to journey inward into consciousness, who use light swords for the highest good of all, rather than fight with steel and for personal gain.
The collective consciousness has reached a point — largely due to the climate crisis and the imbalance of the elements — where Mars can become a peacemaker. The challenges the masculine now faces lie within the inner psyche, in the form of resistance to surrendering to the Self and to the deeper intelligence that is our most profound being and presence.
Neptune is also associated with glamour, and the American astrologer Christopher Renstrom recently said in a panel discussion among astrologers that Neptune ‘glamourises’ both the positive and negative sides of the sign it occupies. He mentioned examples of how the negative side of Mars manifests in a reactive trend which is glamourised by a large number of men who are opposed to gender equality. The panel of astrologers widely agreed that this negative trend is rooted in emotional wounds that those who subscribe to it need to heal.
Christopher Renstrom then recounted the myth of King Arthur’s knights to illustrate a model for an alternative vision of masculinity. He explained how King Arthur offered a completely new vision at a time when there was chaos in the land and no true leadership that cared for the people. The knights were classical warriors who did possess weapons capable of killing. However, each year they swore an oath that they would:
- Abstain from using violence, committing murder, or engaging in other outrageous acts
- Show mercy and grace to all who ask for it
- Refrain from treason and betrayal
- Honour women
- Practice justice
- Be loyal in friendship and faithful in love
- Be generous to the poor and the needy
- Forgive all who ask for it and hope for forgiveness for their own mistakes
- Live their lives with honour and respect
- Help those in distress (especially women and orphaned children)
- Refrain from fighting for love or material possession
King Arthur’s intention was to unite the people through the Knights of the Round Table. The knights were sent out into the world — not to fight or conquer, but to find themselves, to seek the Holy Grail which was their own connection to the divine.
We could also refer to this as the unified consciousness symbolised by Neptune. Recently, during an inner journey, I had a vision that involved the classical knights. I saw how the knights were united through their hearts, and I received the following message: ‘When agreements are made with the heart, vows and contracts are not needed.’
I understand it to mean that we can be inspired by King Arthur’s knights, and we can also rejoice that the vibrational frequency in the hearts of humanity has risen so much that it renders formal contracts and vows redundant.
The relationship between the masculine and feminine has also been elevated towards equality and parity – not least thanks to Carl and Emma Jung’s pioneering work with our inner Anima and Animus. Women are equal partners, no longer ‘damsels in distress’ to be rescued by knights.
Pluto in Aquarius
Pluto will remain in Aquarius until 2043. In 2006, it was reclassified from a planet to a dwarf planet after being discovered as part of the so-called Kuiper Belt, beyond Neptune, which contains many new celestial bodies that have been — and continue to be — identified since the turn of the millennium. A characteristic of these new celestial bodies is that they are often named after gods and mythological figures from a variety of mythologies, not just Greek mythology.
While Pluto is in Aquarius, the balance between the individual and the group will be transformed and reborn. Here, the knights of the Round Table can also serve as examples of community, as the round table — the circular shape — symbolizes equality. The individual serves the group, and conversely, the uniqueness each person brings is supported and amplified by the community. The greater the diversity a group can accommodate, the stronger the community becomes, and in such a community, every individual is ‘crowned.’
According to Diana Cooper, in the golden future there will be no need for hierarchical leaders because we will all be guided by our intuition — that is, from within — and our egos will be dissolved. More and more small local communities will emerge around the world, where we grow our own food, and together, we will manifest what is needed. Money will disappear, robots will take over routine tasks, and work as we know it today will no longer exist. We will live in close harmony with nature and the spiritual world, with our primary focus on spiritual development. We can all contribute to the creation of this golden future by imagining just how wonderful it can be.
Gemini, Aries, and Aquarius are all ‘yang’=‘masculine’ signs, meaning they are outwardly focused and projective in their expression. Their mutual relationships in the Zodiac form trine and sextile aspects, indicating the potential for a harmonious development of the collective masculine. Uranus and Pluto are forming a trine aspect in the sky, and Neptune is forming sextiles to Uranus and Pluto.
The Kuiper Belt
Many astrologers are now working with the new celestial bodies. The New Zealand astrologer Alan Clay has written the book New Stars for a New Era (2024), in which he examines 10 of the new planets and provides examples of their archetypal expressions through the 12 houses. He describes the dwarf planets as higher octaves of the classical planets, and by incorporating them into our astrological readings, we can catalyse our spiritual development towards unity consciousness and the Fifth Dimension.
Haumea
For example, one of the new planets, Haumea, is named after a Hawaiian goddess of creation who can give birth to children with all parts of her body. The myth of Haumea is a powerful image of the creative process. Tensions in the body store both traumas and potential gifts which we can release through inner, therapeutic work and creativity.
We can perceive Haumea as a higher octave of Neptune. She symbolises unity with all living things and unconditional love beyond the ego. We encounter her archetype especially when we are in close contact with nature. In the myth she grows old over and over again, and she rejuvenates every time she gives birth to a new child. In other words, every time we complete a creative project (big or small), we renew ourselves. We are reborn. It is an ongoing practice of surrendering the ego to the higher and deeper self and to the greater, collective context in which we live with nature and the entire Cosmos.
In the mythological story Haumea also teaches women how to give birth by themselves — that is, trusting the body’s inherent wisdom. So, depending on where Haumea is placed in your horoscope, you can see in which area of life you can rebirth yourself and be a midwife for your own and/or others’ creative projects. If you specifically want to become a midwife, Haumea in your horoscope is a good indicator of how you can do this in your own unique way.
Haumea is placed at 3 degrees of Scorpio in the New Year’s horoscope in conjunction with the asteroid Vesta, who symbolises the inner fire that enables us to be self-reliant or fill ourselves with life force from within. This is a powerful aspect for inner immersion, for meditation and transformation. If you have planets or points in your horoscope here or in the initial degrees of Taurus, Aquarius, or Leo, you will be able to feel this inner fire (Vesta), which in conjunction with Haumea stimulates and amplifies your creative impulses and helps you through the process. Haumea moves about 1 degree per year, so it is a slow-moving and therefore deepening archetypal energy that we can lean into.
Saturn Square Jupiter
This aspect will be prominent throughout 2025. Squares generally call us to delve deeper and gain strength, with revolutionary potential, and with Jupiter and Saturn we have the opportunity of creating a deeper awareness of the balance between expansion and contraction where the two planets are transiting the birth chart.
Jupiter will be in Gemini until June after which it moves into Cancer. At the same time, Saturn will be in conjunction with Neptune in Aries, thus forming the square to Jupiter. The Neptune-Saturn conjunction is archetypically described as the meeting between the ideal and the real. Some astrologers have stated that the conjunction in 2025 may mean that we need to turn our concepts of what is reality and what is illusion upside down. In other words, the physical reality will prove to be the illusion, and Neptune’s domain — the inner world and the world of imagination — will prove to be the ‘real’ reality.
We will begin to truly understand that the spiritual and psychic energy come before the physical, that we create with our thoughts, imagination, feelings, and intentions. Other spiritual teachers, such as the medium DearJames, have said that ‘the ideal becomes the real’ — meaning that we can now manifest our dreams of the ideal in our physical world.
The square to Jupiter in Cancer invites us to create security in new ways, perhaps different from what we have learned. Cancer is associated with the Moon, which symbolises our emotional security and the Mother archetype. Often, we are unconscious of what gave us security in childhood, and this may have led to habits and patterns that are not necessarily healthy for us as adults.
Jupiter in Cancer will act like a magnifying glass on these patterns, and the square to Saturn in conjunction with Neptune will help us dissolve patterns and structures that no longer serve us. It can be painful to let go of the old, and it is important that we take good care of ourselves, forgive ourselves and others, and give ourselves time, peace, and love to adjust to a new reality.
Jupiter in Cancer can thus fill us with a strong sense of inner peace, care, and security. Meanwhile, Saturn, together with Neptune, can distil the essence of what we truly want to manifest, while also testing the reality of whether our dreams are feasible in the physical world.
Mars and Venus
Mars is moving retrograde in the sign of Leo right now. It will reenter Cancer during the first week of the New Year, and it will turn direct again at 17 degrees of Cancer by the end of February. The retrograde phase is a great opportunity to go inward and explore what you truly want to support and stand up for in your life. Mars in Cancer is a soft placement, a sensitive masculinity who needs to be in touch with his feelings before and when he acts. He is likely to be a way shower for the new Animus archetype in all genders.
On Friday, the third of January, Venus is conjunct the Moon in the final degree of Aquarius. This conjunction is called the Gate of Perception representing the third eye (the pineal gland) according to Venus’ trajectory through the chakras following the classical myth of Inanna. This is a time to meditate on your pineal gland, your psychic centre and inner vision. Inanna is reclaiming her royal measuring rod — her ability to assess what is for the highest good of the whole she perceives. On this day, we can meditate on this.
I finished this article just as the New Moon culminated on December 30th at 11:30 PM. May these words, therefore, serve as an expression of my intentions and wishes for the highest good of humanity in 2025 and beyond.
